Post-Lipo Discoloration

There are lots of complications that can be seen after standard invasive liposuction. The discoloration is generally considered a complication that can be seen after liposuction. However, post-lipo discoloration should not be seen as a complication because it does not present any risk to patients’ liposuction safety.

There are pigments inside skin tissue that keep the balance of your skin color. These pigments may act differently when your skin takes external damage. Your injuries taken after your falls, cut and hits may result in a change in your skin color. However, discoloration after a liposuction procedure is not something like those.

Pigments that balance your skin color may act differently under the stress of your healing process. You can witness different types of discoloration on your skin but the one that is seen after liposuction will cause your skin to have a dark and blotchy color.

The discoloration is completely harmless to your health and the safety of your liposuction procedure. If you are sure that the skin color change on your body is a result of liposuction discoloration, you do not have to feel nervous about your situation but you can consult your doctor for further information.

There is one important thing about discoloration after liposuction; it takes too long to disappear. Depending on the cases, your skin hit by discoloration may require months to recover its original color. Some people even claim that it may take a couple of years to completely recover their original skin color on their liposuctioned area.

If you feel like your discolored skin is not turning to its original color, you may want to visit your doctor at some point. Your doctor will probably suggest you some prescription lotions or creams for your discolored skin. You must know that other cosmetic products that you apply to your liposuctioned area without your doctor’s knowledge may cause severe complications.
